Renewable Energy: Wind, Solar & Geothermal
January 16th, 2009Are you interested in learning more about what’s happening in the renewable energy field? Plan to attend a Sierra Club program Thursday, Jan. 22.
The program, featuring a panel of experts, will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 69th & Cass streets, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The group will discuss what’s happening in Nebraska and what can be done at the homeowner level.

From Here to Community Garden
January 12th, 2009Do you want to start a community garden in your area of the city? Have we got a meeting for you!
The Green Omaha Coalition will host a panel discussion titled “From Here to Community Garden” Saturday, Jan. 24. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the Neighborhood Center, 115 S. 49th Ave., from 10am to noon.
The panel will acquaint participants with the concepts and benefits of community gardens while providing practical information on how to support or start one. Discussion topics will include funding, volunteers, leadership, land acquisition, resources and more.
